Called To Be A Messenger?
I will never forget when the CALLING started to come up in me to be A MESSENGER with a CAPITAL M.
I was fresh from my first divorce, in the full time single parent seat with my kiddo who was 7 at the time and BAM my heart was opened and the Spirit came swooping in to let me know I was here on this planet to share the message that you can TRANSFORM your life and become BETTER.
Better than exhausted
Better than stressed
Better than scattered all over the place
Better than working in a business that was sucking the life out daily
I was a BIG YES to becoming a Messenger.
I was CALLED.
I KNEW IN MY HEART there were people who could benefit, in fact people who were praying to hear from me that it's possible to walk away from what's not working and tap in to a powerful Source that would direct, guide & affirm repeatedly the steps to take that seemed in the moment entirely illogical AND make more than enough money every day all the time to support the $450,000 house mortgage and putting new sneaks on the kiddo on the regular at $150 a pair.
I KNEW IN MY BONES that I was called to BE HEARD BY MILLIONS - all over the globe. That "my people" were not at the local rubber chicken luncheon, but instead were "waking up all over".
It's been 20 years since that moment and one of the very first things I needed to do (remember I just got divorced! I just left my real estate career after 20 years! I just got the full time single mom title!) was to figure out HOW to turn this calling into clients and cashflow. Cause mama gotta eat if she's going to be effective as a channel and the boy needed to eat, have a roof, get to go to summer camp and all those other things too....
A lot has changed in the last 20 years but one thing remains true - in order to truly make an IMPACT you have to have your eye on the ball and do the math that allows you to also make the INCOME necessary to not just survive but to thrive.
I had to learn as I went how to properly Crystallize & Monetize My Message in a way that would not only touch hearts but would also open wallets.
Here's another thing I learned. You can pour out your content all day long (Speaking, Posting, Podcasting, Reels, Social Audio, etc., etc. etc. ) and get LOTS OF CLAPS. Those claps can make you feel really great - however claps are not going to sustain and fuel and nourish you or your business - nor are they a signal that your message is ACTUALLY MAKING AN IMPACT.
I've come to understand that Claps Do Not Equal Clients.
I've also come to understand that you can spend a F*CK Ton of time, energy, attention and money chasing claps because it FEELS like what you are doing is answering the call to be a messenger.
Truth is that what you are doing is pouring water into the desert.
Truth is you are "Giving away the store".
Truth is you aren't CRYSTAL CLEAR on what to ACTUALLY share that inspires people to pay you to hear and implement even MORE of your authentic core message.
To really receive the full impact of your message those clappers need to become CLIENTS and they do that by INVESTING actual cash money, which is the indication that they "Get You" and that they want more, to go deeper, to become more aligned, to start to actually embody the teachings you are delivering, to really affirm that your message has meaning in the material world.
